Visual Impairment Parliament

The Visual Impairment (VI) Parliament in Kingston comprises five volunteer MPs each of whom champions a specialist area of service provision that impacts the sight loss community, including education, employment, health, social and leisure activities, events, and transport.

The VI Parliament has been successfully running as a pilot initiative since its formation in late 2014 and its launch marks exciting developments in the borough.  KCIL has nearly 50 years’ experience promoting the voice of disabled people in Kingston and plans to grow a pan-disability Parliament. The project was originally piloted by Thomas Pocklington Trust and they will be working with KCIL to embed the VI Parliament in Kingston.
