Who Uses a Direct Payment?

Kingston’s Direct Payments Scheme offers people who are entitled to Community Care Services in the Royal Borough of Kingston the choice to arrange their own support services so they can live life the way they want to. The scheme is funded by RBK, and managed jointly by RBK and Kingston Centre for Independent Living.

Today, nearly 200 people of all ages experience new levels of choice, control and freedom using direct payments.

Here, you can read about how direct payments can change the lives of Mental Health Service users, people with learning disabilities, older people, and disabled children and young people.

You may be able to get a Direct Payment if

  • you live in the Royal Borough of Kingston
  • you are aged 16 or over,
  • you are a parent/carer of a disabled child, or
  • you look after someone who needs your help,

and you are eligible for Community Care Services.
