The Royal Borough of Kingston (RBK) is reviewing the contributions that adults pay towards the costs of their social care services.

The main things they propose are to:

· Have in place a fair financial contributions scheme to meet the Government’s guidance for non-residential contributions under the Transforming Social Care Agenda

· Remove subsidies

· Protect people on low incomes

Their current contributions scheme does not reflect the full cost of providing our services, is unfair and is set at a lower rate, on average, than other local authorities. These proposals will affect people who receive home care, day care, respite care (short breaks) and direct payments. Other services, such as residential care, equipment and adaptations to your home and telecare will not be affected.

RBK would like to know what you think about these proposals!
